NH Certified Green SnowPro Welcome to the NH Department of Environmental Service's page for the Green SnowPro training program.

The NHDES Voluntary Green SnowPro Program offers commercial and municipal snow and ice management professionals training and certification in salt reduction practices that prioritize public safety while mitigating salt usage. Check us out for updates in the snow removal industry, changes in the Green SnowPro program, and updates on NH's environmental issues related to winter road maintenance.

Next week is Winter Salt Awareness Week! Join NHDES and other organizations across the nation to raise awareness around the negative impacts of winter salt usage and promote salt reduction solutions. An additional session of the Snowfighters Seminar through the University of New Hampshire Technology Transfer Center (UNHT2) has just become available! Wednesday, December 13th in Durham, NH with an inclement weather date of Friday, December 15th.

This in-person course is a Green SnowPro approved Full Course with exam. This is a great opportunity for new employees seeking initial Green SnowPro certification. A Full Course with exam is also required every five years to maintain annual Green SnowPro certification. Click the link to register.

Winter weather is approaching which means it's time to make sure that you have submitted your Green SnowPro application and completed required coursework. The late filing deadline for renewal Green SnowPro applications for the 2023/2024 winter season is November 1st. Please submit your renewal application and annual salt use report to NHDES by November 1st to remain in good standing with your Green SnowPro certification.
