🥊 Amateur Boxing Showcase 🥊

Get ready for another exciting, action-packed weekend! The City of Douglas will host an amateur boxing event on Saturday, March 21, 2026, bringing athletes together for a day of organized competition, skill, and sportsmanship.

This showcase will feature amateur boxers representing both the United States and Mexico, highlighting our strong cross-border community and the dedication of athletes in the sport.

📍 Location: Cochise County Fairgrounds
3677 N. Leslie Canyon Rd., Douglas, AZ

🕛 Doors Open: 12:00 PM
🥊 First Bout: 1:00 PM

The event is sanctioned through USA Boxing and hosted by JL Boxing Academy, with approximately 28 bouts scheduled throughout the day.

Residents interested in amateur boxing, youth athletics, or community sporting events are encouraged to attend and support these talented boxers.

The USA Boxing Foundation has announced that applications are now open for the 2026 Thomas "Sarge" Johnson Scholarship. The USA Boxing Foundation is pleased to award up to $1,000 in scholarships to select applicants pursuing their post-secondary education. Funds will be awarded directly to the scholarship winners' college, university or trade school.

Big congratulations to Phoenix Sports Academy for kicking off 2026 in a BIG way! 🥊🔥

This past weekend, Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Academy hosted an action-packed afternoon of amateur boxing right here in the Valley and what an incredible event it was!

We witnessed several outstanding matchups, nonstop energy, and a whole lineup of talented boxers stepping into the ring and showcasing their hard work, discipline, and heart. From the opening bell to the final round, the crowd was treated to skill, determination, and true sportsmanship.

Events like this continue to build our local boxing community and give these athletes the platform they deserve. Here’s to a strong start to 2026 and many more successful events ahead! 👏🏽💪🏽

The 2026 USA Boxing International Open takes place this week in Pueblo Colorado. Pictured are Juan Martin Varela, Seferino Rodriguez, and Dr. Joseph Nieto, all of whom are from Arizona. Juan Martin Varela is one of the national announcers for USA Boxing, Seferino Rodriguez is the Arizona President of LBC 48, and Dr. Joseph Nieto is Chief of Doctors for Arizona.
