Since it opened in 2010, DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club's range complex near Como in Panola County is rapidly becoming Northwest Mississippi's first choice for a safe place to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. Our facilities presently are:
-General Purpose Range with target positions at 100, 150 and 200 yard distances and up to 25 firing points. This range is always open to members during operating
hours. An on-site range officer is on duty Saturdays, Sundays and major weekday holidays to assure safe shooting for everyone as well as to answer questions about our facilities.
-3 Pistol Bays are used three Saturdays a month for competitive events but otherwise are open to the general membership. Two bays are approximately 25 yards wide by 25 yards deep while the other nominally is 50 yards by 50 yards. International Defensive Pistol Assn. (IDPA) meets are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays; Steel Challenge matches are conducted on the 2d Saturday of each month.
-Long Distance Rifle range designed to accommodate NRA-style rifle matches. It has 8 fixed target positions and can be expanded to 20. There are raised firing lines at 200, 300 and 600 yards with the 600 yard firing line being concreted and covered. There are additional props and barricades adjacent to the 600 yard line for PRS shooting. We currently conduct PRS, NRL .22, and F class style matches from this range.
