Commerce ISD Athletic Trainer Tammy Carrell had the honor of attending the East Texas Athletic Training Award Ceremony at their golf tournament in Gladewater, where Emma Gossett, a 2026 Commerce High School graduate, was awarded the Monte Jameson Scholarship.

Emma served as an Athletic Training student while also being a Varsity Cheerleader, so Friday nights were already full for her. Even with a busy schedule, she showed up for every practice she could and worked all of our JV games. She was dependable, smart, hardworking, and someone Tammy could always count on to get things done.

Emma plans to attend UT Tyler to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Training, and Tammy knows she will do great things.

Congratulations, Emma! You have earned this honor, and we are so proud of you. Go do great things! 🐾
