🍁 Ready to welcome fall and clear out some room for cozy season?

Join us for The Great Autumn Grow Out - Swap Meet! This is a fantastic, sustainable way to refresh your kids' wardrobes, clear out gently used or new items they’ve outgrown, and find some wonderful "new-to-you" treasures. One person’s preloved items are definitely another’s new favorite!

Here are all the details you need:

Date: Thursday, September 17th

Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Location: City Hall Auditorium, 425 Webster St, Colusa

Cost: Free to attend!

Want to participate as a seller? Bring your gently used or new baby, toddler, or pre-teen items (toys, clothes, and more) to sell or donate to City Hall. Make sure to pre-register for a table using our online registration portal located at

REC WORKSHOP - 🏀 Basketball 🏀

Let’s build a stronger recreation community together!

We want to hear directly from you on how we can grow and improve our local programs for players of all ages—from our youngest toddlers all the way up through high school, as well as adults.

Join us for our upcoming Rec Basketball Workshop tomorrow night, Thursday 9/3, at City Hall from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.

We’ll rolling up our sleeves and diving into:

Potential Ages 2-4 programs

Current TK–6th grade league activities and expansion

7th–12th grade activities

Open gym discussions

Please note: This workshop is just the tip of the iceberg! We want this to be the start of many ongoing conversations and deeper community engagement to shape the future of Colusa recreation. Come share your ideas, bring your questions, and let your input guide where we go next.

Proof that no matter how big they get, there’s still a kid inside just waiting to splash around! 🏊‍♂️⚡

Yesterday, we were thrilled to open up the pool and host the CHS Varsity Football team for their weekly team dinner with a pool party! 🏈

It didn't take long for the team to channel all that varsity energy into a whole new kind of game plan. They decided to put their strength and teamwork to the ultimate test in the shallow end to try creating a massive pool whirlpool. After a whole lot of running, splashing, and laughter, we are proud to officially declare them the first successful group to pull off a complete whirlpool all summer long! 🏆🌊

Moments like this remind us why we love doing what we do. Partnering with our local schools, supporting our student-athletes, and watching our youth grow up in this town is truly special. Colusa is an incredible place to live, work, and play, and we could not ask for a better community! ❤️🖤

Thank you to the players and coaching staff for bringing such great energy to the pool. We are behind you all the way—here’s to an amazing, victorious season ahead!

Make one last splash before the summer ends!

🏊‍♂️☀️ Time to get registered for Colusa Recreation’s Late Summer Swimming Lessons—our final session of the season before we close up the pool!

Whether your little one is taking their first dip or looking to sharpen their strokes, we’ve got a class for everyone (including adults!).

Session Details & Schedule

Registration: $60

Class Duration: 30 minutes per class

Monday & Wednesday Class Session (8/31 – 9/28)
*Note: No class on Labor Day (9/7)

Time slots: 5:00 PM ~ 5:30 PM ~ 7:00 PM

Tuesday & Thursday Class Session (9/1 – 9/24)

Time slots: 5:30 PM ~ 6:00 PM ~ 6:30 PM

The older kids might be headed back to the classroom, but the fun is just getting started for our youngest community members! Keep your little ones engaged, creative, and active this fall with two fantastic programs hosted by the City of Colusa Recreation Department.

🎨 Little Artists!
Unleash your child's imagination in a hands-on, mess-friendly art program designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers! They'll explore colors, textures, finger painting, and sensory crafts.

Ages: 2–6 years old

When: Fridays, August 28 – October 2

Times:

AM Session: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

PM Session: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Scout Cabin

Cost: $60 per child
