Huge shoutout to Coaches Kyle Trosky, Maddie Rico, and Allen Sheeley for bringing in players from Colusa Major teams “Bama” and the “Longhorns”, along with the “Junior Redhawks” Junior softball team, for some serious conditioning during Spring Break. These girls worked HARD!!!

We’re proud to announce that we’ll be sponsoring a team in the Russell Gardner Memorial Softball Tournament!

All proceeds go toward a scholarship fund in Big Fella’s name, honoring Coach Gardner’s incredible impact on Colusa County. For over 30 years, he dedicated himself to coaching at the high school, junior high, Little League, travel ball, and youth football levels. He was truly a larger-than-life figure who touched countless lives.

Be on the lookout for Team “Muy Macho”! The name comes from one of Coach Gardner’s famous CHS football drills to prove who was exactly what the name says.

There’s still time to enter a team or help donate towards the snack bar etc.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that we’ll be back in action starting this April!
A huge thank you to Melissa at Better Body Fitness Studio in Colusa for allowing us to use the facility so we can continue working with youth athletes and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

This announcement feels extra special—today marks exactly 6 years since COVID shut us down just 17 days after launching our brand-new business.

We’ll be starting in April with a couple of k-8th grade exercise classes and some individual training and then expanding this summer with additional classes, clinics, and some outdoor training opportunities.

One more final thank you for all your support these last 5.5 years. Your support of me and my family has helped in more ways than we can describe. Our final day at the original location was 11/26. We are working very hard to find a new location and have some people even joining in as partners so please stay tuned. Unfortunately it’s not gonna happen by tomorrow but we are working on it feverishly. In the meantime im still working with athletes and adults with special needs on the side so message me here if your child needs help. Thanks again so much for helping me live a dream. Loved every second of it!!!

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the (hopefully temporary) closure of Colusa Athletic Training this month. Six years ago our family opened this small business just as the pandemic had started. We were able to survive and thrive because of the love of support of this amazing community. We were so fortunate to have been able to grow and raise our family in this space that created such a positive and competitive environment for Colusa County kids.

Due to circumstances outside of our control, our lease has been cut short. As we explore other options to continue operations, we ask for your patience and continued support while we try to find a space that can accommodate Colusa County youth in the most effective way possible.

In the six years we have been in operation we have been so fortunate to grow and achieve so much: numerous scholarships awarded to local graduating seniors, working with multiple groups who help affected and disadvantaged youth in our area, and countless moments of fun, growth, and positivity for our community. We were hosts to youth sports board meetings, picture days and signups, impromptu batting practices, and team/family gatherings. We watched as so many local athletes honed their skills, gained confidence, and went on to achieve greatness here in the county and into their collegiate careers. We have loved every minute of it, and none of it would have been achievable without the support of you all. ��For those interested, we will have some options for private training for our local athletes. Reach out to us here if you are interested.

We can't begin to express to you how difficult this decision was for our business and family and we want to thank everyone who has reached out with their empathy and kind words of support. That said, we are confident that this is just another bump in the road on our journey to offer a dynamic space for Colusa County athletes to grow and thrive. ��Thank you again for your support for me, my family, and our business. It is appreciated more than we could ever express.
