Nami Bujutsu - 波武術

Nami Bujutsu - 波武術 Nami Bujutsu: Zen and self-defense training that empowers people to take back their FREEDOM. Freedom from Stress, Fear, Anxiety and Poor Health.

Nami Bujutsu is a mixed martial art focused on civilian self-defense. We develop the mentality, fitness and techniques through rigorous, individually tailored meditation and physical practices. The primary systems that contribute to the style include: Jujutsu, Karate, Wing Chun and Kun Khmer (Kickboxing), Rinzai Zen (Hollow Bones) meditation. Nami Bujutsu is the result of my life-long training in

martial arts, which is a journey that began at the age of 5. For the full story, please go to wavemartialarts.com/meet-the-instructor

We had fun hitting Bob with the slow-motion turned on, definitely something we're going to do more often!

One combination 2 ways. The first way we move into the opponent to break down their foundation, close distance and be ready to keep the pressure on. The second way we use rotation to generate power and maintain a little more distance.

As a bonus, the switch-stance (for me) straight caps off the video.

Today I introduced another of my warriors, Scott, to interception. To get used to the concept we get fed a basic strike and cut it off with a hit. He doesn't let not being able to feel or articulate his feet slow him down.

In Nami Bujutsu level 1 the focus is on winning the initial counter. Angular movement, the ability to read, high percentage first hits are all critical. This sen-no-sen and tai-no-sen concept is where it's at.

You may have also heard of "The Way of the Intercepting Fist"... you know, Jeet Kun Do?...Bruce Lee thought this was a pretty good idea too.

Some no-gi hip tosses. Introduced in Level 1 Stage 3.

Dan is a warrior. He constantly pushes through chronic conditions to come train with me and has been doing an awesome job. As a reward, we used some tiny puzzle mats he donated to the dojo to cradle our bodies.

Video has no sound.

Spent today revamping the website to reflect all of the dojo's class offerings. Check it out!

An excellent demo of one of the forms learned in level 2. Lots of good applications and skills in here, can you find them?

Lovely explanation of application for movements found in Heian Sandan.
