Ive also neglected to post progress pics from the result of my adhd hyper fixation with rocks, so with out further ado ; my flint knapping.
This is late into my second year of knapping, though I've had an interest far longer than I coukd imagine. Even before making longbows (almost 35 years in bow making!!!) I had interest in stone tools.
The down side is i did not k ow anything. Had no teachers, materials, or internet to figure it out. As a kid, id watch some knappers and ask questions. Some were great knappers, just not good teachers, or just close lipped.
February 2025 I was laid up after having cubital tunnel surgery (they cut yiur elbow open and release pressure on the nerve that was strangled, so everything works "normal", and I gotnthe 2-for-1 special with tennis elbow surgery, trimming up some tendons or something). Boooooooriiiiiiiiing.
Anyways, had lots of couch time. Spent it on a deep dive with videos and books. First time in had a long break from the bow shop.
Also found out im highly addicted to knapping, collecting rock, and everything between.
Being12 degrees of a**l rentative in the detail department, I wanted to go much further with my knapping and work on some cool pieces.
The works below, are some of this journey, im beginning.
Still making longbows, still tanning, still willow weaving (coming soon to a bowskin.com near you), just adding another straw on the camels back.
Now time for another espresso, and ibuprofen.
Enjoy!
