Ohio State Irish Dance Team

Ohio State students from various cities and dance schools collaborating to share their love and talen That is how we became the Ohio State Irish Dance Club.

Irish dancing is like any other sport, in order to be the best it requires a lot of hard work and dedication. When past members Michael Holland and Katie Higgins were freshman at OSU, they struggled finding practice space in order to maintain their highly competitive dance careers. So they decided to start a club so that they could book rooms, and plan practice times for them and any other Irish d

ancers at Ohio State still competing. Today, we are led by President Maggie Lavelle, Vice President Brigid Lawler, Treasurer Erin Byrne, Secretary Meaghan Vrabel, Choreography Chair Maggie Smith, and Social Chair Rachel Schofield. All of our members come with experience in Irish dancing and a love of performing and competing. Most members are retired from competition, but still want Irish dance to remain an important part of their life. Our goal is to compete in a few intercollegiate feisanna a year, showcase our talent and culture across OSU's campus, and to continue to share our love for Irish dance and culture.

from winning a ton of awards at villanova and dayton to competing at nationals for the inaugural year, from bonding at super fun socials to performing at cool campus wide events this year we have had an exceptional year! we can’t wait to see what’s in store for our team next year❤️🍀

we had an absolutely AMAZING time at flyer feis this year!!!

the results are in!!
•1st place and 2nd place in the 4 hand competition
•1st place in the 8 hand competition
•1st and 2nd place by Shea Bertman and Abby Fletcher in intermediate treble reel
•Sophomore Shannon Dempsey 1st place in adv sophomore treble reel
•Junior Rachel Schofield 1st place in adv junior treble reel
•Senior Erin Byrne 1st place in adv senior treble reel

we had an absolutely amazing time at the Villanova competition! our dancers danced incredibly well and brought home some fantastic placements:

• 2nd Place 4 Hand with Shannon, Emma, Meredith and Marina
•12th Place 4 Hand with Erin, Maggie, Kathleen and Therese
•5th place 8 hand Team A
• our lovely Team B
+ all of our fantastic Treble Reel dancers and our fun number Buckeyes of the Caribbean 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
