Former varsity or junior college players are eligible. How many teams do you have and how are they different? Our club has 3 teams: Scarlet, Gray, and Black. Each has 10-12 players, and teams are chosen based on ability, so the top player are on Scarlet, the next are on Gray and so on. All teams practice together and typically travel to the same tournaments. What volleyball experience do most of t
he club players have? Our club is competitive and the majority of our players played in a club team in high school along with varsity high school volleyball. Each year our teams are nationally ranked! This experience is not mandatory as we encourage everyone to try out! Dues last year were $175 per semester bringing the total to $350. Depending on the location of Nationals (i.e., if it is a plane ride away) there may be a Nationals fee, which is typically not more than $100 but is subject to change. The dues cover uniforms, travel, coaches, tournament entry fees, and much more. This is a relatively low fee compared to other clubs who charge as much as $500 a year to play. As a club every member is also required to participate in a couple fundraiser events each quarter. These are necessary to keep our dues low! How often do you practice and what is the time committment? We practice 3 days a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights from 7-9pm or 9-11pm at the RPAC. Usually we participate in 3-4 tournaments Fall semester, 4-5 tournaments in the spring, and Nationals which is held in Kansas City, MO, during the first weekend of April. Despite a seemingly busy schedule, it IS possible to be involved in other organizations! Many of our girls are involved in sororities, student government, or academic clubs.
