Join Susan's classes this month where we are focusing on Pranayama -- the art of using the breath to help the body and mind. Here is an example of one of the techniques that you can use any time, especially when you are feeling anxious or agitated. The aim is long and slow exhales, smooth sound, and a relaxed body.
The long exhales and smooth vibrations of Bee's Breath (Bhramari Pranayama) help shift the nervous system into the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) state. Physically, this practice supports heart health, nasal airflow, and relieves facial tension. (Avoid this breath practice if you have an ear infection or current migraine, sinus infection or respiratory infection.)
