Big congratulations to Wildlife Biologist Tim Brooks on an awesome gobbler and a fine hunt today!

‼️BEWARE‼️
I got a hard reminder this morning that the Deep South spring woods can bite back. I was bitten on my lower spine by a brown recluse while turkey hunting.

I’ve been bitten by a cottonmouth before and accidentally shot while turkey hunting, but never bitten by a venomous spider. Even though that snake bite put me in the hospital for 5 days, this recluse bite is every bit as painful in its own way.

Just a reminder for anybody heading to the woods this spring — watch where you sit, what you lean against, and what you reach into. Snakes, spiders, ticks, stinging insects, hidden holes, and old brush piles are all part of the Deep South woods this time of year.

Check your vest, gloves, seat, gear, and anything that’s been laying on the ground or against a tree. Stay alert and don’t let one quick mistake ruin your hunt.

Y’all be careful out there and keep your head on a swivel. These spring woods are beautiful, but they can be unforgiving.

Me and ole Boudreaux are heading out on the Tennessee-Tombigbee River for an all nighter of commercial catfishing from Columbus to Aberdeen.

It sure is foggy tho & Im heading 18 miles north in the thick of it baiting out...A long night ahead for sure.

A few days off at my secluded piece of paradise on the Tennessee-Tombigbee River.

The nighttime blue cat action is HOT right now, if you know how to catch them!

If any of you locals in Lowndes/Clay County are interested in buying wild-river catfish, they are $4.50 per lbs dressed or Live & undressed at $3.00 per lbs right off of my boat thru Sunday.

If you want Buffalo, I can put a few sets out for them and give you a quote on them Live and undressed. If you've never had Buffalo ribs-You're missing out!
