Today we want to send a HUGE thank you to TJ for taking the time to come speak with our players and parents about college recruiting, next steps, and how to prepare for the high school journey ahead.

For those who may not know, TJ has been with DC for many years and currently serves as the head coach of our High School National Team. He is also a varsity coach at Columbus North High School.

A fun (and very impressive) fact — TJ currently has nine athletes on his travel team who aspire to play at the collegiate level. Eight out of those nine have already been recruited and are committed to continuing their careers beyond high school. And to make that even more remarkable — that does not include the athletes who have been recruited from his high school program. These numbers reflect only his travel team players.

The information he shared today was incredibly valuable — not just for our girls, but also for our coaches and parents navigating this journey alongside them. From those preparing to enter high school to our current freshmen, the guidance and insight were truly appreciated.

We are so blessed to be part of an organization that provides resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help our athletes pursue whatever goals they set for themselves.

Thank you again, TJ, for investing your time, knowledge, and encouragement into our team!

🏆 Calling All College Coaches, Softball Recruits & College Players 🏆

Over the past several days, I’ve been doing a lot of research and having conversations with people who have been through the college softball recruiting process. My goal as a coach is to make sure we are doing everything we can to give our girls every opportunity to play softball at the next level — whatever that level may be.

We’ve received some great tips and valuable insight on what we should be doing as coaches, and now I want to make sure I’m also putting the right tools directly into our players’ hands.

That being said, I’m looking for college coaches, recent softball recruits, current college players, or former college players who would be willing to speak with a group of very motivated girls who are interested in playing college softball. The purpose would be to share insight into the recruiting process, expectations at the next level, the do’s and don’ts, and to help drive encouragement and confidence through what can be a long (but exciting) journey.

Our team is currently split between 8th graders and freshmen, but the years are flying by and we’ll soon be full of high school athletes eager to begin the recruiting process. We have access to an indoor facility and would love to host speakers in person; however, virtual options are absolutely welcome as well.

If you are interested, or if you know a college coach, current or former college softball player, or recent recruit who would be willing to mentor, speak, or simply be a resource our girls could reach out to, please comment below or tag them in this post. I’d love to compile a list and start getting things in place to set our girls up for success.
