Excerpt from an email sent to all registered 2020 Sister Cities Tournament Player:
Today, March 12, 2020, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the state is restricting gatherings of more than 100 people. Because of this order and the health and safety of our players and volunteers we are moving to cancel the 2020 Sister Cities Tournament.
We hope that Columbus can host this tournament in the future and we will truly miss being able to host all of you.
As the tournament was scheduled to take place in two weeks, some vendors have already been paid. Stonewall Sports is a small, nonprofit organization with liability insurance only which does not cover event cancellations. Because of this, we will not be issuing refunds to any player. Instead, we plan to divide what money was not spent and make donations to nonprofits in each of the three cities. We know that this is not ideal for all but it’s the fairest solution to a complicated situation.
As a reminder, please don’t forget to make the necessary accommodation cancellations.
