Ok let’s face it by the time you get to week 10 or 11 or 12 or whatever it is now all the pictures basically start to look the same. Sooooo I figured why not try something different. I found a 20-yr old Canon camera with a 50mm lens on Marketplace and negotiated it down to $150 for everything including a memory card 🙌🏻 It’s old, it’s heavy, it’s slow, and it has terrible autofocus, but hey it’ll be “Fun” and if nothing else look different. So I knew action shots were not going to go well so I’d just do stills of helmets on the floor and warm-ups since those are are super easy then focus on the sidelines and plays that came right at me. I personally don’t like 50mm as a “Look” but that’s what was on the camera so on to the game. Shot it like I normally do other than trying to stay closer to the play and moving around a lot. Miraculously I still got a 100+ pic game gallery and quite a few I genuinely like 📸 More B&W than usual since I think the artsy look leans that way. Oh, and meanwhile BW did win 43-0. Tons of big plays as usual, a pretty cool full-moon, and weather that ended up being pretty decent for the O-H in November. For those wanting to get into sports shooting it can cost a million dollars or it can cost $150 and as long as you’re out there enjoying the experience and learning that’s what matters.
