Greetings brothers!
The time is here once again! Morehouse Relays is upon us, and will commence this Thursday morning, culminating with finals of most events on Saturday. As we mentioned earlier, we look forward to honoring our past All Americans, as well as our greatest track and field alumnus Edwin Moses, on the 50th anniversary of his earning the gold medal at the Montreal Summer Games in 1976. The meet this weekend begins each day at 9 am, and will run on a rolling schedule. If you would like a copy of the meet schedule for each day, you can contact associate head coach Chris Doomes directly at [email protected].
We're also setting aside a meeting table for all alumni to gather, rekindle old friendships, speak to high school athletes about Morehouse, and make donations to the foundation. This table will be located near the 200m starting line at the northeast corner of the field. As you all know, the foundation helps fund many aspects of the program when possible. In the past we've helped purchase shoes, uniforms, books, hotel stays, and transportation costs. Without our generous collection of track and cross country alumni, our beloved program would fall short in many areas. With that in mind, we have created a QR code to make donating easier, and more convenient for our alums / donors. Also remember that the foundation is a 501c3 organization, and donations can be designated as such for tax purposes.
Lastly, some of you may have noticed last year that many of the foundation board members were wearing sweatshirts with "Morehouse Track and Field Alumnus" imprinted on the front. We are now offering you all the opportunity to purchase one of these sweatshirts at $75 each. Part of the proceeds from the sales will go directly towards the needs of the cross country / track and field program. For those that did not get the chance to see the sweatshirt, I've attached a picture of myself wearing one below this message. You'll see that I am wearing the maroon version but, we also have it in white and gray. If you are interested in purchasing you may also use our paypal QR code (posted in the comments of this thread) and specify "sweatshirt order" in the title of the donation header, when prompted. For those attending the meet this weekend, you'll get a chance to see the different colors of the sweatshirt. For those, not attending, we'll be sure to provide photos after this weekend, of the different colors.
