We’ve had quite a few of you asking when our next shooting horse clinic/school will be — so I wanted to share an update and get the details in front of everyone.
For the last several years we’ve hosted Shooting Horse Schools through Missouri CMSA (which we still own and host competitions through). Moving forward, all of our educational opportunities are now being hosted through NaSHA (National Shooting Horse Association) so we can grow the educational side of the sport more intentionally and make resources easier to access in one place.
✅ Our next 1-Gun Shooting Horse School is now open for registration:
May 30–31 (just north of Columbia, MO)
Spots are limited to 8 riders per day — so if you’ve been waiting, this is the one.
Day 1 – Foundation + Gun-Breaking
Day 1 is focused on safe firearm handling, correct exposure, and the riding fundamentals that build a calm, confident shooting horse — cadence, control, start/stop, turning, and forward movement without rushing.
Day 2 – Progression + Putting It Together
If you can stay for Day 2, do it — this is typically when horses and riders really click. After a night of rest, horses come back more settled, riders are clearer, and the biggest progress often happens on that second day as we build into intro pattern work, troubleshooting, and individual next steps.
You can attend one day or both days, and we’ll help you choose the best fit based on where you and your horse are right now.
We can also recommend nearby lodging, and we’ll have a casual Saturday night potluck for anyone staying over.
