Day 4 Road Trip. It was a sobering visit to the Manzanar War Encampment.
Imagine being uprooted from your home and business and taken to an encampment of 10,000 people. You would be housed in wood and tar-paper structures without heat or air conditioning. That's what happened to Japanese-Americans in 1942.
Manzanar is located north of Lone Pine, CA, and is now a National Park. https://www.nps.gov/manz/learn/index.htm
