The practice of yoga started for Christina in the fall of 2009 in a college class in Oceanside, California. She quickly realized the benefits it offered; whether it was stress management, overcoming chro

nic illnesses, finding hope amidst depression, and gaining confidence as she witnessed her mind and body trasnform. In early 2017, Christina decided that she wanted to delve further in to the world of yoga and learn how to spread it's benefits to the people around her. She will be completing her Yoga Teacher Training through Barefoot Yoga Studio in June of 2017. Christina will offer classes for teens and adults, inside or amongst the beauty of nature, private lessons, group sessions, or as an independent contractor. Yoga is more than just a physical practice- it is a way of life and a culture that is to be honored and respected. Yoga the Mind hopes to utilize yoga techniques to change one’s mindset and help one to achieve the greatest happiness. Deepening one’s yoga practice will allow one to find peace and strength mentally, emotionally and physically. Join Christina as we grow Yoga the Mind and send positivity out into the world.

✨ I’m looking for a college student who wants to get creative with me. ✨

I’m looking for someone local who is interested in social media, marketing, branding, photography/video, or just really loves making things look and feel good.

I own Sequoia Yoga & Wellness here in Columbia, and I’m at the point where I need some help getting the Sequoia magic across to social media. 😂 I have lots of ideas, but I’d love to have someone with a fresh perspective who understands branding and marketing.

This would be an unpaid internship/creative collaboration, and I’m happy to work with your school if you need documentation or are hoping to arrange academic credit through your program.

In exchange, you’ll get:

🌿 Unlimited yoga at Sequoia
✨ Two free 60-minute Reiki sessions each month
📱 Real hands-on experience with social media + marketing
🎥 Content creation for your portfolio
🌱 A chance to help shape the branding and online presence of a small local wellness business

I’m especially looking for someone who is creative, dependable, curious, and comfortable experimenting. You don’t have to know everything. I’d much rather work with someone who has good ideas and is excited to learn.

Marketing, communications, advertising, graphic design, PR, photography, film, business, or a related major would be great — but honestly, if you’re a creative person who thinks you’d be a good fit, I want to hear from you.

If you’re a student at USC, Benedict, Columbia College, Midlands Tech or another local school, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself and what you’re studying. If you have examples of your work, even better.

The Congaree tribe once occupied this lush land along the river. They also woke up to those beautifully misty mornings brought in with the waters, that we all love.

The Congaree river is named after them. After Europeans arrived, they were exposed to disease, warfare, and displacement. They are no longer a distinct tribe and the few that remained were absorbed in to the Catawba tribe. 🖤

Due to the nature of the land we live on- we do not know much about them. With high temps, humidity and floodplains, many things wash away and/or decompose quickly.

We honor the connection they had with the land, the suffering they were exposed to as they were violently forced out, and the acknowledgment that this land rightfully belongs to them.

If you know anything about me, you know I pick up on energy in different spaces and I love sharing spaces that have the best energy! ✨

I’ve had wonderful opportunities this summer to give reiki to people in spaces where the energy is so supportive of healing and in places that mean a lot to the person I’m working on. Whether it’s because they feel safe, inspired, or it holds beautiful memories, there has been something so beautiful about working on people in these spaces.

Because of these absolutely beautiful moments, I am now offering mobile reiki! Whether we’re in your living room surrounded by your plants and favorite art, in a forest covered with ferns where your cat used to play, by a stream with butterflies stopping to bestow their blessings, I want to meet you there and I want to help you heal, shed, release, and find clarity. And when I’m in a sacred space I can feel it and I can call upon what’s available there to support your journey.

I am Emily McCravy, a channel, and a bridge between the mystical and the practical worlds. For nearly 20 years I’ve been exploring energy work and intuition and creating spaces where people can slow down, listen deeply, and remember the wisdom already living inside them.

My name is Christina and I’m a slt for moss, trails with cool bridges, waterfalls (especially if I can get in them or behind them 🫠), talking to Mama Nature, feeling my quads burn as I run up and down trails and hop rock to rock, and especially mushrooms! Oh, also moths, snakes, cool birds (the great blue heron is my homie), hugging trees, and a gazillion more things.

I have been hiking my entire life. I was a nature preschool teacher for several years. When my kids couldn’t hike on their own, I carried them on my back. I was a branch ambassador for a hiking nonprofit group. I was a canoe guide , I ran a half marathon up and around a mountain. I almost have a bachelor’s degree in environmental science (but I had to pause to improve my mental health). Doing yoga and teaching yoga outside is my magic.

I LOVE being outside and I LOVE helping people feel confident outside. I am combining the things I’m best at- playing in nature, yoga, reiki, loving people and believing in people’s ability to feel at home in their bodies and to heal.

I’ve put together a lineup of hikes to join me on. Check my page out for where we’re going in August and September. It will be silly, it will be playful, it will be healing, it will connect you with a beautiful community.
