π₯π«‘πͺβ’ Chandler Parsons Pin loaded belt squat marches π₯
You might have seen the belt machine version of this exercise, but this is its rowdy cousin.
Unpredictable, chaotic, and brutal, but that is exactly what you need if you are preparing yourself athletically.
Benefits:
-These build ankle strength tremendously. Turns the joint into rebar. If you are a strongman, this will make carrying events so much more stable and smooth. I have personally noticed I can move faster on carry events because of these.
-For athletes, the ankle building these do help prevent rolling the ankle. This is a common injury that plagues almost every athlete in a dynamic sport. These make that a thing of the past.
-Feet stability. Feel rooted into the ground by the stability these give you. Feet strength is your base. Without it, no other link in the chain can make up for it. Strong feet means lot of stability and control.
-Hip strength. Because of the wide stance because of the plates between your legs, all your hip musculature has to do the work. This is a major difference compared to the machine version where the quads can really start to chip in even if not desired under fatigue. These force you to use only your hips. Every step you can feel them getting torched.
-The instability of this movement builds the ability to handle chaos. Think changes of direction, a misstep on a heavy carry, moving in athletic stance. These will ensure your legs, hips, calves, and ankles are ready. And being ready is always better than having to get ready.
Stay ready.
