A Little Rimfire History 🎯

The .22 Long Rifle has been around since 1887.

J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company developed it by pairing the .22 Long cartridge case with the heavier 40-grain bullet used in the .22 Extra Long.

More than 135 years later, the .22 LR is still a favorite for target shooting, training new shooters, building fundamentals, and enjoying an afternoon at the range.

Some designs simply get it right.

Fi****ms 101: Which Eye Is Dominant? 👁️

Your dominant eye is the one your brain naturally relies on for precise visual alignment. It is not always on the same side as your dominant hand.

Here is a quick way to find yours:

1. Extend your arms and make a small opening between your hands.
2. With both eyes open, center a distant object in the opening.
3. Close one eye, then the other.
4. The eye that keeps the object centered is your dominant eye.

Cross-eye dominant? You are far from alone. A few adjustments to your stance or head position can help you find a clearer, more consistent sight picture.

Knowing which eye is doing the work is a small detail that can make a noticeable difference on the range.

The 1911 pistol was designed by John Moses Browning and adopted by the U.S. military in 1911. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for American forces for 74 years, through two World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam, before being replaced by the Beretta M9 in 1985.
