🔥 Overhead Barbell Press – One of the Most Underrated Strength Builders 🔥

Today’s lift: Heavy overhead barbell pressing.
If you’re not including this movement in your routine—you’re leaving strength (and shoulder health) on the table.

Why the Barbell Press matters:
💥 Builds serious shoulder & upper-back strength
💥 Improves core stability (yes—your abs work HARD here)
💥 Helps balance out all that benching
💥 Trains real-world pushing power
💥 Strengthens rotator cuff and stabilizer muscles

Quick How-To:
• Grip just outside shoulder width
• Squeeze your glutes and quads before the press
• Brace your core (big belly breath)
• Press straight overhead—not out in front
• Head moves slightly back to keep the bar path vertical
• Lock out with elbows under the bar, ribcage down

Common mistakes:
❌ Pressing with your lower back instead of your shoulders
❌ Leaning too far back (that’s a standing incline bench)
❌ Flaring the elbows early
❌ Rushing reps without control

Pro Tip:
Think “push through the floor” with your legs—your whole body is part of the lift, not just your shoulders.
