Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmas, stepmoms, and mother figures in our Colton baseball family! ⚾️❤️

Thank you for the rides to practice, the late-night laundry, the concession stand shifts, the team meals, the cheering from the stands, and the countless ways you support our players and community. Behind every kid on the field is someone loving and encouraging them every step of the way.

Today we celebrate you and all you do to help make baseball — and our community — so special.

We've planted grass at the baseball field in Colton! We know you want to get out and enjoy the field, but would appreciate it if you could stay off the grass and turf areas until it is fully ready to go (we are hoping by early May). Thank you for your understanding and helping us protect this investment in our community!

Big thanks to Sioux Valley Energy and Basin Electric Power Cooperative for the support! We are excited to watch baseball on the turf infield this summer, and more excited to see what Phase 2 and 3 will bring to the baseball park in Colton!

Earlier this month, Director Allan Weinacht and Brandon Lane presented a check to the Colton Friends of Baseball to support ballpark improvements, including the installation of a turf infield. Sioux Valley Energy helped make these upgrades possible with a total contribution of $10,000 -- $5,000 through the REVIVE 2030 initiative and an additional $5,000 match from the Cooperative’s wholesale power supplier, Basin Electric Power Cooperative. This investment demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and creating more opportunities for youth in rural communities.
