Holton got a nice PR clean and jerk on his last attempt at the Virus Finals (formerly known as the American Open) in Daytona Beach this past Saturday. 140kg in the Jr 94kg class. His happy comment coming off the platform was “That was a long time coming.”

Went 2 for 2 this weekend: 2 athletes and 2 State Champions. Holton yesterday and Luis today won his second State title, 94kg class open division.

Holton went 5/6 today, taking gold in the 94kg junior division at the Colorado State Championships and Best Junior Lifter award. Next stop American Open Finals in December.

Fun weekend at Mountain North Championships PinnacleWeightlifting. Jayden in his second meet improved on his Collegiate Championship performance a few weeks ago with 5 for 6 effort: 80kg sn/97kg cj /177kg for total, all PRs and silver medals across. Luis also went 5 for 6 and hit 101kg sn**ch (silver) 138kg cj (gold) 239kg total (silver) all PRs in his new weight 89 class and also a big improvement on gis performance at Collegiates.

Jamie Hegg back in town for the holidays…I hadn’t seen this clean pull, clean and “clean and jerk thruster” complex before. Pretty impressive!

17kg Squat PR for Holton this morning…he’s been in a post competition / pre track and field transition phase the last couple of weeks and hasn’t really squatted over 80% 1RM for about a month now. He wanted to give it a shot. Here’s his new best (180kg) effort.

Holton had a big weekend at the American Open Championship Finals in Tucson. He won the 16-17 y/o 96kg class with a 116kg sn**ch, 138kg clean and jerk for a 254kg total, which also makes him the #1 ranked lifter nationally in his age group/ weight class.

Had a nice visit from Jamie Hegg this morning. Coming back from wrist surgery a few months ago, mending well. 120kg jerk.

Put in jerk recovery and supports today for Holton…he could have gone heavier (obvious from the videos) but today was his first day trying them. Also first time he had 300lbs (and more) overhead. First 140kg (308lbs) then this 160kg (352lbs) for a double
