The U.S. Men's and Women's National Teams have learned their groups for the IWBF Ottawa 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships taking place September 9-19 in Ottawa, Canada.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association is proud to recognize Steve Serio for representing Team USA and the sport of wheelchair basketball at the United Nations earlier this week.

As one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of our sport, Serio participated in the panel discussion, “Synergy Between Two Movements: Paralympic Movement and Disability,” sharing the impact that sport can have in advancing inclusion, opportunity, and visibility for individuals with disabilities.

Whether competing on the court or speaking on behalf of the Paralympic and adaptive sports communities, Steve continues to be a tremendous ambassador for wheelchair basketball and an inspiration to the next generation of athletes.

Thank you, Steve, for representing our sport on the global stage.
