To our friends and families of the LFLC,

As some of you already know, the Executive Board emailed notice to all of our registered players and coaches this week announcing that we are officially canceling the 2020 Recreational Season. This decision was not an easy one. We have reviewed all of our options which included a modified schedule, moving games later into the summer months to name a few and decided it was in the best interest of safety and planning to cancel. This decision doesn’t come without a cost to our league and those businesses that support Colonia Baseball. Long before any of the challenges we are facing now became a reality, uniforms had to be ordered, supplies for the fields and equipment for the teams were purchased, all of which began in early January. With these facts in mind, the Executive Board will now begin to plan for an awesome return to baseball in 2021. The registration fees collected for this season will apply to next year so each family is assured their spot within Colonia Baseball. Families who have players that will age out of the program ( 15 years old) will have their registration fee mailed to them as mentioned in the email notice.

Although our fields may be dark this season, we want to thank each and every one one of you who have called, emailed and left messages on social media. Your encouragement and appreciation means a lot. This wasn’t an easy decision or one that we took lightly.

To all of our players that are moving up to the next level, we thank you. Hopefully your time at the LFLC has given you memories that will last a lifetime. Our hope is to see you back on our fields, as a member of the Colonia High School Team, welcoming all of the new faces at our opening day parade. Just because your playing time is done here, it’s doesn’t mean you aren’t part of our family. That bond lasts forever. Sadly, your final season ended in a way we couldn’t control.

For those players and families who are returning next season, we can’t wait to see you all. When all of this passes, be sure to break out your glove and enjoy some time in the sun.
