You don’t have to leave Illinois to have an elopement that feels like an adventure.
McKenzie & Nash chose Starved Rock State Park for their elopement day, and I mean… LOOK AT THIS PLACE.
Tucked between towering canyon walls, surrounded by moss and greenery, they read their private vows to each other and got to slow down and actually experience this part of their wedding day together. No elaborate setup needed. Just the two of them, their vows, and one of the coolest landscapes Illinois has to offer.
I think Illinois gets overlooked way too often when people start dreaming about an adventure elopement. You don’t necessarily need mountains in Colorado or cliffs along the coast to create something beautiful. We have canyons, waterfalls, forests, bluffs, rivers, and some seriously underrated places right here in the Midwest.
And THIS is exactly why I love photographing Illinois elopements.
McKenzie & Nash, thank you for trusting me to document such an intimate piece of your day. 🤍
Thinking about eloping in Illinois? Consider this your sign to stop assuming you have to go out west to make it magical.
