Congratulations to our official 1st Midwest Sluggers Baseball squad!

The amount of athletes that showed up to our tryout monday was impressive and it made choosing the kids to fill the remaining roster spots incredibly difficult! But we feel really confident in these 14 kids below.
Hope your ready for it Sluggers! We got work to do & can't wait to get started.

Well thats a wrap for the Moline Blackhawks 14U. What a season. We started at 11U and 7 of the kids stuck around all 4 years. We had alot of great memories together and accomplished alot. Its been an honor to coach you all and I thank you for sticking with me and believing in our vision. That was to grow and get better every year.

We add to our group every season a kid that just fits and buys in. We are a solid group even when things don't go the way we would like. We see what makes us stronger and we strive for it. We've done a great job of being resilient no matter the circumstances. The vision has been the same since day one... to just get better, to work hard, to show up, have a great work ethic and to compete with anyone.
This weekend was fun, the smiles, the laughs, the dug out jokes, the friendships, and all the moments between... don't forget thats what this is about and baseball just gets to be the cherry on top! Congrats on the championship today boys and way to finish our season for one last time as Moline Blackhawks.

We start a new chapter after today. I am excited to take 9 kids with me to an organization that made me fall in love with coaching. I get to go back to the Midwest Sluggers where I found out what it meant to be part of something way bigger than the game. To all that are ready for the next chapter be ready for whats to come its going to be a fun ride.

Just like every other seasons its going fast. Feels like the boys just got started. We filled out weekends with tons of memories, wins, homeruns, strikeouts, big moments, heartbreaking moments, laughter, stronger friendships,lots of championship games, so many great games and a handful of not great ones. The season is winding down and over the weekend we say goodbye to a few of our boys. This journey has been fun and exciting and the accomplishments you've all made have been something to be unbelievably proud of. The success of this team far outweighs the fails, because failure is what created the grit and heart that pushed you through hard times.
Its been awesome to watch you grow as players, as a team and as young men. Going foward know that this will always be your family! We wish the 3 boys the best in the future know they will continue to be amazing people on and off the field! Its more than just baseball for this team and thats more important than the score, the overall record or how many trophies you have!
Good luck in everything you do going foward.

To our one of our originals Jack Schneckloth #15 you play with tons of heart and gave us everything you had, your one tough dude! A massive asset to our team all 4 seasons!

Parker Devaney #21 you have overcome so much over the last 4 seasons. You always show up and compete with a smile. You brought a fun lighthearted spirit to the game and pushed yourself constantly. Keep working and being you!

Lucas Huisenga #4 new to us this season but one of the most intense players on the team. And overall great athlete. You were a great asset to this team and we will see you doing big things matter where the future takes you.

For the rest of the Blackhawks! Lets go finish our last tournament next weekend and go out having some fun one last time!

Our boys worked hard this weekend. Just getting moved up to AAA only 1 week ago seemed like a challenge. But they handled it like just another day at the ballpark. Pushing thru every game and fighting hard every inning. They learned what they are really capable of this weekend. Going 4-1 loosing by 1 run in the championship game against the #1 ranked team in Iowa.

Today's team performance was impressive, demonstrating resilience following a challenging weekend at the AAA level last week. Wil Dykhuizen's achievement of hitting his first home run of the season is noteworthy. Despite previous losses last week, the team bounced back effectively, securing wins in both pool play games and hitting several dingers from Hudson King, Wesley Thomas, and Grayson Millerschone. We wait to see results for seeding and hope for optimal weather.

After delays and schedule adjustments the Blackhawks finish as the 2 seed going into bracket play. We take the field at 2:30 and plan to play 3 games in a row to reach the championship at 6:30 today. Its a beautiful day for baseball! We couldn't be more proud of you and how well you've adapted to playing at the next level.
