I just wanted to share an image that Jack Sammons sent to me this morning.....
I know the tour guys hate coming to Memphis for the FEDEX St. Jude Tournament. It is because a couple reasons.....they have always had the tournament right before the U.S. Open and the best players will typically take off the week before a major to prep and get ready for a Major. yes a tournament win is a tournament win, but a MAJOR win always means more. Player will always miss a regular tournament to be well rested, prepped, and dialed in for a major tournament week.
That being said......the FedEx St. Jude means a lot to the city and St.Jude. It has been one of the longest running tournaments since 1958 and raising millions for St. Jude. I hope they figure out how to keep the event and move it to late spring when the weather is not 115 heat index! If not the tournament will no longer be a Memphis staple and FEDEX will pull its sponsorship. See less
