Ever wonder why your yoga teacher keeps handing you a block, even when you can touch the floor?

Because reaching the floor and feeling the pose are two different things. A block can help you:
• Keep your spine long instead of rounding
• Feel the stretch where you're supposed to
• Breathe easier and stay steady

The photos show each pose with the block and without it, so you can see the difference for yourself.

Props aren't a shortcut. They're a smart way to practice, at any level.

Let’s talk about using blocks in yoga. 🧱💛

If you’ve ever hesitated to grab a yoga block because you thought everyone would notice, judge you, or assume you weren’t “good” at yoga… this is your reminder.

Yoga blocks aren’t a sign that you can’t do a pose. They’re a tool that helps you make the pose work for YOUR body.

And you know what? Beginners aren’t the only ones who use them. Experienced yogis use props, too!

Maybe a block helps you sit more comfortably. Maybe it brings the floor a little closer in a standing pose. Maybe it helps you find better balance or feel more supported.

Whatever the reason, you don’t have to earn the right to use a prop. You don’t have to be flexible enough, strong enough, or experienced enough.

You’re allowed to meet your body where it is TODAY. ❤️

And if you need a little extra encouragement learning how to use yoga props and modify poses in a beginner-friendly way, comment BEGINNER below, and I’ll send you some insights that might help.

You belong in the room, block and all.

If sitting cross-legged in yoga feels uncomfortable, try this! 🧘‍♀️

If your yoga teacher has ever asked you to sit on a block and you find yourself wobbling, struggling to balance, or feeling hunched over during Easy Pose (Sukhasana), try adding a SECOND block next to the 1st.

Here’s why sitting on a block helps 👇

When your hips and legs are tight, sitting cross-legged can make it difficult to tilt your pelvis comfortably. You may compensate by rounding your spine, which can make it harder to take a comfortable, full breath.

Adding a block (or two) can:
✨ Elevate your hips and give your knees more room to relax.
✨ Help you find a more comfortable, upright spine.
✨ Reduce the effort it takes to sit comfortably.
✨ Make it easier to focus on your breath instead of constantly adjusting your position.

And remember: Easy Pose isn’t always easy! It’s also known as Sukhasana (or, as I like to call it, crisscross applesauce 😂).

Props are tools that help you make the practice work for YOUR body.

Save this for your next yoga class, and share it with a friend who could use a little extra support!
