Intro to Longsword - Join Us This Fall!
Vier Blössen Historical Fencing is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and practice of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). We explore real combat techniques from medieval European masters. We’re excited to invite interested students to join our longsword study!
What you’ll learn:
• Basics of the historical longsword fencing context in the 1300-1500s.
• German longsword techniques for unarmored combat
• Cutting mechanics, guards, footwork, timing, and distance management for historical fencing
Schedule (5-class series - Mondays in Sept + Oct):
Sept 28 - Oct 5 - Oct 12 - Oct 19 - Oct 26
Time: 6:30–8:00 PM
Location: McPherson Park, Colleyville, TX
Who can join:
• Adults welcome, no restrictions
• Teens (16+) with parental consent
• Guardians must sign a HEMA Alliance liability waiver at the first practice
What to bring:
• Weather-appropriate athletic wear
• Water bottle
• Optional: athletic cup for sparring (All other gear provided!)
