As we enter the final week of PTSD Awareness Month, we want to remind our community leaders, protectors, and heroes that silence can be a greater enemy than many realize. It can play a major role in mental health decline, which is why our agency continues to spread awareness through our Public Safety Wellness program. Our team of trauma-informed counselors and emergency response instructors is dedicated to intentional training and saving lives through our "Support That Saves" courses.

This entry-level, three-day course is offered nationwide for first responders and public safety professionals. Attendees will learn how to build and sustain peer support teams within their organizations and be prepared to step in, support one another, and navigate challenges that often go unseen.

It’s not just what you do. It’s how you do it together.

With graduation coming up, Class 171 has spent the past several months developing skills, gaining experience, and learning alongside one another. Through the knowledge shared by our instructors, use of a wide variety of equipment, including augmented reality technology, and countless hours spent training at our one-of-a-kind field, these students have experienced the hands-on training TEEX® is known for.

We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to celebrating them this Friday!

Congratulations to TEEX Training Director Heather Crites, Project Coordinator Kris Murphy, and Program Director Ryan LeNorman (not pictured) on being recognized by New Jersey Transit Police with the 2026 Chief’s Recognition Award.

Over the past several years, the team has played a key role in supporting the strong partnership between TEEX and New Jersey Transit, coordinating multiple training events and exercises that have strengthened collaboration and preparedness.

This recognition reflects their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Where in the world is TEEX HazMat? This week, we were in El Dorado, KS, at the HF Sinclair refinery. They had 11 ERT members working hard for their HazMat Technician Pro-Board certification. There were some weather delays, but the students powered through. HF Sinclair will be well protected.

TEEX is proud to be the first training provider to offer an approved Pro Board NFPA 1010 Land-Based Marine Firefighter certification course!

Developed to address a nationally recognized training need identified following a National Transportation Safety Board recommendation, this program equips firefighters and emergency responders with the specialized knowledge and practical skills needed for vessel, port, and waterfront incidents. From fire departments and industrial brigades to ports and maritime facilities, this training supports those responsible for protecting critical maritime infrastructure, industrial operations, and the communities they serve.
