STOP creating core values. You are doing it wrong!
Core values are not something you sit in a room and invent because it sounds good on a wall. They already exist!! Your job is to UNCOVER them.
Look at your best people. The ones you would clone if you could.
What do they consistently do? How do they show up? What do they believe?
That is your starting point.
Then look at your worst people. The ones who drain the team or do not fit. What is missing? That contrast sharpens what actually matters.
When you create core values instead of discovering them, you end up with words no one lives by! When you discover them, you build a culture people can feel.
If your core values are not actively used in hiring, firing, reviewing, and recognizing your team, they are useless.
Go audit your team this week. Write down your top 3 performers and pull the patterns. That is your first draft.
