What a weekend! The Aggieland Classic brought together first-time competitors, a strong alumni presence and travelling schools for an amazing tournament.

Handball creates opportunities for students to challenge themselves in competition while building lasting friendships beyond it.
Thank you to all 140 entrants for making this event such a success.

The Aggies made history, capturing the Doug Randolph Cup for the first time.

Off the court, the banquet was a highlight of the weekend. Welcoming Priscilla Shumate ’97 back and celebrating her induction into the Southwest Regional Hall of Fame was a special moment that connected past and present.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Aggie family, the Houston Handball Club, whose partnership helped bring the Texas State Doubles Championships to life. Also, a huge thank you to the who continues to grow the game and inspire new players.

A special well done to Sport Management student and handball club member Tommy Ball, who served as Tournament Director as part of his internship. Organizing an event of this scale is no small task, and this weekend is a reflection of that work.

Doug Randolph Cup Champions 2026!

We are so proud of the character shown from our team, it took hard work, focus and determination to get this result over the line. Not only did Texas A&M come away with the win, they won the match ups against all other schools and in doing so recorded the highest team points (419) since the inception of the event and the greatest margin between first and second in the history of the Randolph Cup (54pts).

The overall score line does not tell the full story of how competitive the tournament was. Going into the third and final round it was a head-to-head against a very impressive and young Missouri State Team (all eligible to play again next year), Texas A&M had a 23 point lead. But it was not until Caitlin Behne scored the 14th point in game two of her singles game that the title was sealed for the home team. It really was a massive team effort, each player stepped up and fought through long rallies and pressure moments, knowing that each point counts. What made this win special was that every point was for the team!

We are very proud to be the 2026 Randolph Cup champions and to do so on our home courts in Aggieland! We look forward to defending the title in 2027!

Aggie Greatness. Still Unmatched.
Priscilla Shumate '97 picked up a handball for the first time as a Texas A&M student.

In 1996 and 1997, she slammed back-to-back Open Collegiate National titles in both singles and doubles.

Then in 2000, she did something no one has replicated since - winning the USHA National Open four-wall, three-wall, one-wall, and World four-wall singles titles…all in the same year.

And now, her impact on the sport is being honored where it all began.

We are proud that Pri will be inducted into the Southwest Region Handball Hall of Fame at the Aggieland Classic banquet.
