Another year, another amazing TN Junior Cup!

Lots of great golf and memories made! Thank you and all of the incredible people behind putting such a great event together! The event was truly first class and was an honor to be a part of, not to mention a ton of fun! These players are good!!

We are excited to welcome Katie Woodruff to the team!
We are beyond thrilled for her to pour her love, knowledge, and experience into junior golfers! Not only is she a highly decorated golfer herself, she has coached and been around some of the best collegiate athletes in the game over the past near decade.
She is excited to grow the game and help athletes develop and improve! She will be doing on course player development work, practice structures, practice round guidance, and stats overview! She is currently helping a handful of college and professional athletes with learning areas to improve through certain stats!

•2 collegiate individual wins
•2x All-ACC Women’s Golf Academic Team
•6 years as college coach (Pepperdine University, University of Southern California)
•2021 Palmer Cup Assistant Coach Finalist

Katie’s love for college golf runs deep. After spending five seasons and all her eligibility playing college golf, she vowed to stay as close to it as possible. Once graduating, she decided to pursue coaching instead of entering LPGA qualifying school. She coached at Pepperdine University as the assistant for three seasons and led the Waves to the National Championship twice and a WCC Conference Championship in 2018. In 2019, she got the call to be the assistant at the University of Southern California. While at USC, the Trojans added wins at the 2021 Pac-12 Conference Championship and 2022 NCAA Regional Championship. She coached Allisen Corpuz, the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open Champion, who rose to the #1 player in college golf in 2021 for three seasons. She has an eye for talent, in all three seasons at USC their recruiting classes were not ranked outside the top 3. During her time as a Trojan, she coached 10 All-Americans and had 10 team victories.

These “unforced errors” are the single biggest negative impact on a golfers score! Major errors naturally do occur- even on the highest level. But if a player is seeing frequent unforced errors, then it is good to address them through focused practice and help with an instructor.
We are here to help players as they strive to play at the next level! And a big part of this is guiding them through purposeful practices and learning from competition. And taking statistics, specifically strokes gained, can help with both!

Players develop quicker with strong fundamentals, playing holes, good practice structure, and competing!

At B9C, we work with players on the course and help design practice structures and course plans based on that players game and tendencies!

The way you practice and prepare are the vital steps in building a confident mentality that lead to better results. Are you going to practice with the right mentality and daily goals?
Things that can help this are stats that are honest in telling you how to spend your time. Becoming an efficient practicer is a great skill, one that will definitely help with transitioning your game to the next level!

Back9Coaching is proud to be partnering with the Tennessee Golf Foundation in helping bring these events back! These two free events (Dec 10th in Nashville and Jan 21st in Knoxville) are designed to give junior players and their family’s insightful information covering many areas of junior golf, recruitment, and what it takes to compete at the next level!

Each session includes a power point presentation and a Q & A with a panel of college coaches who will be present to answer any questions. There’s an awesome panel of coaches signed up for both events! Very exciting!

We will be covering topics like:

* NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Centers
* Resumes
* Recruiting Rules
* NCAA Divison I, II and III
* NAIA, Jr College, USCAA

Both coaches Brooke and Chas had the opportunity to be captains during this years TN Junior Cup! What an incredible event put together by and showcasing some of the best players in the state!
Each of the players were exemplary representatives of the game and of junior golf in the state of Tennessee. The event was truly first class and was an honor to be apart of, not to mention a ton of fun! The Tennessee Golf Foundation is second to none when it comes to developing junior golfers and growing the game!

Fall season for college golf is in full swing, and it is greatly beneficial as a potential prospect and junior player striving to play at the next level to follow along! A player can learn so much about what tournament golf in college looks like- level of competition amongst the teams and divisions, distances and courses the schools play at, the schools strength of tournament schedule, and so much more!

Most college events are played over the weekends or Sunday-Tuesday, so it is great to visit Golfstat.com regularly to have a better understanding of what competing at that next level looks like! Some programs and coaches are also great about posting recent successes and travels! As much as you as a prospect like to hear from coaches, it is just as beneficial for you to like a post or send a quick congratulatory message!
