I’m supposed to be in Alaska helping run retreats right now…:(

Last summer I got to do what felt like my dream job helping run backcountry Alaskan Womens retreats. Teaching skills, archery, wilderness First Aid, fire building and it was amazing.

Being pregnant, the closer the retreats got this summer, the less excited I got and the more nervous and dread were the emotions coming up.

My head was saying “YEAH let’s go do this, we love being there!”
My gut/intuition was screaming, “we need to stay here:(“

I’m not one to just sit around, I want to do all the things/activities and try not to let pregnancy slow me down.
BUT I finally had the ínstense realization that there was a 1000% chance of me physically and mentally overdoing it up there wanting to keep up and help with all the things:(
We also are not near any medical help and if a storm hits and a plane/boat can’t get to us we would be stuck. Yes we have medivac insurance when we go. But that doesn’t insure the plane can get to us.

So after lots and lots of tears and stressing over if I was making the right decision. I decided to stay here:(

I am praying the retreats go amazing and they get amazing weather, fishing and memories 😍😍 can’t wait see pictures and hear the stories ❤️

Taking the time to teach our kiddos the big and little things in this life.

How to build all the things. How to make a fire. How to tie to tie. Shoot a BB Gun. Change a tire. Cook. Build forts. Build forts with me for HOURS😍 how to play in the woods. Fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, gardening. Even giving up a big buck tag for a little buck just so Wyatt could see the whole thing.

Thank you for going above and beyond for our kiddos and I.
