Now is the time before league starting to get your bowling balls detoxed!
Why you ask should ypu have thia done?
Detoxing a bowling ball extracts deep-set lane oil that has soaked into its porous outer shell (coverstock).
Over time, modern high-performance reactive resin bowling balls act like a sponge. They absorb the oil patterns applied to the bowling lanes, which eventually clogs their microscopic poresl-care)
Detox Ensures Consistent Performance:
When a ball is saturated, it enters a "dead" phase.
It will skate too far down the lane, slide unpredictably, and deliver weak, flat corner-pin leaves. Detoxing ensures a clean, predictable roll.
Extends the Balls Lifespan: Continuous oil saturation can permanently degrade the performance resin. Extracting the oil prevents damage and extending the lifespan of the ball.
Signs Your Ball Needs a DetoxYou should consider a deep-clean detox roughly every 30 to 60 games, or when you notice the following:
The ball stops finishing strongly on the backend of the lane.
The ball over-skids or acts sluggish, sliding right past its usual hook breakpoint.Visible, dark, "sweaty" oil rings form on the coverstock even after you wipe it down.
