Coleman Lions Club members getting BBQ ready for tonight’s Coleman County Deer Hunter’s Festival 6-9pm at Bill Franklin Center at the Coleman Rodeo grounds. $20 admission but free to active military and youth under 10. Drawing for 6 rifles every 30 minutes!

Tomorrow! Sept 6th!

We want to invite all of Coleman County to come and enjoy the Coleman County Hunters Dove Fest on September 6th, from 11am to 1pm, at the Bill Franklin Center at the Coleman Rodeo Grounds. Six Browning BPS shotguns will be awarded as door prizes with a meal ticket. This year's meal is going to be grilled pork loin chop and sausage with all the sides for $20.00 per ticket or 6 for $100.00. This event, and the Deer Fest on October 31, 2025, was started by local landowners and businesses to say thank you and show appreciation to the impact that hunting and outdoor recreation has meant and provided to our county.

This year, we have established our own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Coleman County Hunters Festivals and we look forward to continuing this mission for Coleman County. We want all of our county, and its visitors, to come and support the organization. We support many youth clubs, civic organizations and rural county fire departments. Come out, have a great meal and a chance to win a Browning shotgun.

PUBLIC HUNTING ON WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS
AT O. H. IVIE RESERVOIR

Application for public hunting permits on the O.H. Ivie Reservoir Wildlife Management Areas will be accepted by mail only beginning July 15, 2024 and ending August 16, 2024, at the O.H. Ivie Reservoir Field Office.

Hunting Permits will be limited, and requests for information and application packets should be made by calling the Colorado River Municipal Water District (CRMWD) at 432-267-6341 (Audra Hoback), or by writing to:

A public drawing for the WMA Public Hunting Permits for the 2024 Hunting Season will be held at 1:00 p.m. on August 19, 2024 at the O.H. Ivie Reservoir Field Office, located near the north end of the dam. All applicants are welcome to attend the drawing, if they desire.

The Coleman County HUNTERS DOVE FEST is fast approaching on Saturday, September 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Bill Franklin Center in Coleman on Highway 206 South, at the Rodeo Grounds. Cost is $20 per person ($5.00 for 12 & Under, Free to Active Military) for an all-you-can-eat catfish lunch, plus entry for all door prize drawings and entrance makes you eligible to win guns. Six over/under shotguns will be awarded as door prizes.
