Vanity is GREAT, functionality is BETTER. But why not train to have both? To look and function your best?
Contrary to popular belief, physique and function are NOT mutually exclusive. You do not have to beat up and break down your body (giving up your health) in order to achieve the body of your dreams.
Actually, being in pain, getting hurt and feeling like s**t is the #1 reason people never actually achieve the aesthetic changes they were originally training for in the first place. Ironic, isn’t it?
Bottom line, your training should make EVERY aspect of your life better. That means working to improve your physical, mental and emotional health. And feeling confident in the form and function of your body fits that bill.
But not every program is prepared to delivery these types of multi faceted results. And not every coach can create these changes you are after, let alone have a plan to sustain them for life.
As my clients will attest, their health comes first, and the gains come second in order to sustain them for life, to better their lives, for the rest of their lives.
This is the definition of health first functional training.
