Hello Team HORST Junior Squad Community,

We have signed up to participate in this year's The Breakaway Benefit on 5/18/2024 in Bolton, CT to benefit The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP).

The CCAP was created in 2013 with a mission to ensure that youth and their families have access and exposure to the sport of cycling in an organized, healthy, and supportive way. Youth and their familes should be able to see a clear avenue that allows them to develop as far as their ambition, skills, and abilities can take them. The sport of cycling teaches a child or young adult a wealth of values, social skills, and mindsets that help them become successful in every aspect of their life, and the CCAP is proud to provide kids across the state and beyond with the opportunity to participate in a safe and positive team-based environment.

Some of the Junior Team attended the first of the Short Track races at Moran Middle School this past Wednesday. They had a lot of fun and Vera, Anna, and Ryan all podiumed!

We had a fantastic start to the season at Winding Trails 28th Annual Fat Tire Classic. Our juniors have been practicing hard since March and we can already tell it's going to be a great season.

We have two new juniors joining us this year and we are very excited to welcome them to the team! Simon Carreira and Parker Shugrue have fit in nicely and area proving to be quite the talkative and fun loving duo. Both Simon and Parker did great over the weekend in the First Timers race and look like they've been hitting the trails for years!

We are also excited to welcome Luke Wilson back after a year's hiatus. Luke took some time off to race Enduro and play lacrosse and everyone is excited to have him back on the team.
