Unfortunately we won’t be making the races at Thunder Hill Speedway tonight. Alyssa injured her neck pretty good after she was rear ended pretty good in her go-kart races this past weekend at Stockholm Karting Center. She’s got range of motion issues and pain. Colin’s engine hasn’t been replaced yet since it dropped a cylinder at the Spring Chicken Challenge at Thunderhill a few weeks ago.
The kids will be back at it at the next races.

Well tonight’s racing for us at Thunder Hill Speedway was a tough. In Colin’s only second time in his micro sprint he lost a cylinder in the heat race. I’m pretty sure it’s a broken valve spring. It’s not often I see visible disappointment from him but when I told him his night was over early he was visibly upset.
The track did something different tonight and decided to run a B main. She started in 4th, was up as high as 3rd and ended in 5th, missing the transfer by 2 positions. She looked the best I’ve ever seen her, ripping the high side and being aggressive.
Thanks to Garrett Massey Racing and Chad Singleton for all their help. Chad has saved us twice now by coming through with parts and showing me how to adjust the cars. Garrett has been solid with giving me tuning suggestions and talking with the kids on the phone about how to drive the cars.
Big thanks to Jellyfish Graphics for coming through in the clutch with Colin’s graphics. Although not quite completed, because of procrastination on my part, they are looking great.

Alyssa finally got to turn her first laps of the season in her #100 micro sprint for an open practice session at Thunder Hill Speedway.
She picked up right where she left off last season for the most part. I had to address a few issues early this morning before loading up. There are still a few minor issues to fix but nothing major.
Most important part is that she was supper happy to be back in the car.
Our first official race of the season is this Friday at Princeton Speedway.
Unfortunately Colin’s left hand/forearm is in a splint. He injured it on Friday goofing around with some friends. Thankfully it doesn’t appear broken at this time but he is out of racing for at least the next 7-10 days. He wanted to get out and turn is first laps ever in his #99 micro sprint today but that just wasn’t on the cards.

Guess what Kart Chaser?! Alyssa will be driving her Birelart AM-29 with a brand new Greyhound Racing Seats this season. Does she really need the kart now though?
