This weekend I found myself in a conversation about AI — and its potential impact on the Pilates industry.
Will we one day not only accept, but prefer, a computer over human connection? I can argue both sides. Look at and what happened during Covid. Studios closed. Peloton entered homes. And for a moment, it felt like the future. But when life reopened, people returned to the gym. Why? Community.
Recognizing this, Peloton leaned into its instructors — their personalities, their presence, their energy — and in doing so, rebuilt connection. Proof that even in a digital world, people crave people.
So will AI one day teach fitness classes? Maybe.
What I do know is this: the classes you choose should resonate with your goals — and for me, encouragement and correction land differently when they come from a human. I feed off that energy.
At SHRED, every instructor brings something irreplaceable.
Take Maud’s class and your abs will burn — and she won’t let you lose the connection, even when you’re convinced she is on the millionth rep.
Nancy will challenge both your body & your mind with thoughtful variety.
Alisa stays true to the work in its most classical form.
And from me — I hope you always feel both challenged and supported.
SHRED is a community rooted in health, kindness, and shared effort. One thing I’m certain of: a computer cannot replicate the energy of a room filled with people choosing to better themselves — together.
