Want to make a direct difference in Coffman Cove?

The city is accepting Declarations of Candidacy for the municipal election on Tuesday, October 6, 2026!

Three (3) City Council seats are up for election this year:
Seats A, B, and C.

⏰ Deadline:

Submit your completed forms to the City Clerk by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

What happens if seats are left empty?

-Write-In Candidates:
Voters can write in qualified candidates on election day under standard municipal election procedures. Write-in candidates must submit a formal letter of intent prior to the statutory deadline.

-Council Appointments:
Per Alaska Statute 29.20.180, if any of the three seats remain vacant after the election canvas and certification, the remaining members of the City Council will fill the vacancies by appointment.

Appointed members serve until the next regular election.

- How to File:
Candidate packets are available at City Hall, Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Important Water Conservation Notice

Coffman Cove residents: our finished water levels are critically low. Water conservation is strongly urged at this time.

Please limit water use to essential household needs only until further notice. Non-essential use should be stopped or kept to an absolute minimum, including:

- fish washing
- boat cleaning
- tank filling
- washing vehicles
- hosing down decks, docks, or gear
- filling hot tubs, pools, or other recreational containers
- watering lawns, gardens, trees, or landscaping
- pressure washing
- washing buildings, windows, or siding
- cleaning fish racks, totes, coolers, or similar equipment
- any other non-essential outdoor or recreational use

Your cooperation is urgently needed to help protect the town’s water supply. Please conserve water now and use only what is necessary.

Important Community Notice

Please do not dump fishing waste, hunting carcasses, or any animal remains anywhere between or around First Dog Road and Second Dog Road. This area is part of Coffman Cove’s watershed, which means it is where our town gets its drinking water.

Protecting our water supply is critical. Please help reduce contamination at all costs by disposing of all fish and game waste properly and responsibly.

Thank you for doing your part to keep Coffman Cove safe and healthy for everyone.

The City of Coffman Cove is officially accepting Declarations of Candidacy for the upcoming General Municipal Election taking place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026!

Three (3) City Council seats are up for election this year:

City Council Seat A (3-Year Term)
City Council Seat B (3-Year Term)
City Council Seat C (3-Year Term)

How to File:
If you are interested in running, you must pick up and file a Declaration of Candidacy form with the City Clerk.

Where: Available at City Hall
When: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Filing Deadline: All completed forms must be returned to the City Clerk no later than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Voter & Candidate Eligibility Requirements:
To run for office or vote in this municipal election, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States and qualified to vote in State of Alaska elections.
- A resident of the City of Coffman Cove for at least thirty (30) days prior to election day.
- Registered to vote in State elections.

Coffman Cove is heartbroken over the Green family’s loss this morning. In a small community where we do life together, many were on the scene—fighting hard, doing their best, and showing up with courage. Mistakes were made in the chaos, but there was never any question hearts, hands, and prayers were with you.
