Post race recap; Caraway Speedway.

Until pulling into the track Thursday afternoon, I had never even seen the place in person. Our fastest lap on the first run out of the trailer was a 17.5. We quickly went to work to make minor changes, and our second run, times sped up. We continued to do this same tactic all evening Thursday, and into Friday and Saturday practice sessions. Every time we would go on the track we improved our times and the car had a better feel. Saturday in qualifying my fast lap was a 16.508, and put us rolling off p15 out of 34, missing the top 5 by only a few hundredths of a second. We made a one second gain in times by making the right adjustments and Kres getting me comfortable with the track and helping me with better placement of the car on the track. Rain followed driver introductions and the race was postponed until Sunday afternoon. A few laps into the race I got hung on the outside, a groove you do not want to be in there. I then got stuffed in the outside wall on two separate occasions early in the race. We lost a lap to the leaders because the handling of the car was off after making contact with the wall. We decided to pit to check damage and make some adjustments. We made a mistake on pit road and got a 2 lap penalty which then would have put us 3 laps down if not 4 by the time we got back up to speed. So, I made the decision to protect the motor and the car from further damage to just park the car, ending our night early, and finishing 29th out of the 30 car field. I really have to thank my dad, A.C. Blevins Trucking, and Kres and Erin with VanDyke Racing Performance for giving me this opportunity. I cannot express how walking out onto the frontstretch in driver introductions made me feel making my first CARS Tour in my first attempt. Although we did not get the finish we hoped for this weekend, we all left the track holding our heads high. We made positive adjustments all weekend, we made major gains, I made the starting grid in one of toughest Late Model Stock series there is, and we learned a lot. We may have even figured out a few things to help down the road. We made a mistake and we learned from it. Everything we took away from this weekend is a positive and gives us tools to better ourselves for the future events. If you tuned in and watched live on flo, or you came in person and supported me, thank you! And, thanks again to everyone who made this weekend possible for me.

Race recap from April 4 at Lonesome Pine. We ended the night P9 after being involved in an accident on track. After we went back to green an oil line started leaking oil and we had to park early. Thanks to Jamie Stanley for asking me to drive his car so he could be with his daughter in her Late Model Stock Car debut. During a rain delay, Brian got to meet River. River is a new fan of Blevins Motorsports, and as we were told, got "mad" when we got caught up in the accident! Don't worry River, Brian was mad too! It's part of racing and hopefully we will be back in action possibly at Lonesome Pine soon. Also River, we have some merchandise coming your way! Thanks for cheering on Brian and hopefully you will be back to pull for him again in the future! Stay tuned for announcements coming soon. We might be keeping some secrets!

It's been an extremely hard last 24 hours for us guys at Blevins Motorsports as we grieve the passing of our beloved member Fate Fleming. Fate you were one of the biggest supporters of Brian on and off the track. As we sit and remember the good times like you would want us to, we smile and cry thinking about the long nights that turned into days spent at the shop, building, fixing torn up fenders, changing motors, checking every nut and bolt on the car, waxing and rewaxing, looking for every ounce of speed we could find, the trips to motor mile, Franklin county to kingsport, Newport, Hickory and bristol chasing our dream of seeing the fastest late model around. To our infamous golf outings that may or may not have lead to flipped golf carts and spinning diet Dr. Peppers going down the fairway, to your always colorful commentary of our pass the pigs games during road trips and red flags, you were always right there by our sides with a huge smile on your face and infectiously amazing laugh that would light up any room and put everyone in a better mood. You were not only a brother to moose but you were a brother to us all. We may not understand why, but we all know your are in a better place, your heavenly home looking down, watching over us with that huge smile upon your face. Fate from all of us WE LOVE YOU!

Greetings Blevins Motorspots nation! As we are sure most of our great fans have been aware of the transformation of our home Lonesome Pine Raceway into the new dirt colosseum that is now Clay Valley Speedway driver Brian Blevins has decided it's now time to transform Blevins Motorsports and sling some clay. Teaming up with long time friend Steve Martin (no not the comedian, the real Steve "the cat doctor" Martin) whom has been racing dirt for as long as we can remember. We are pleased to announce that driver Brian Blevins will be piloting one of Steve's TNT dirt late models! This will be a huge learning curve for both driver and crew at Blevins Motorsports but we as a whole are ready to attack this new challenge as we have every one that has faced us before. We hope to make a showing this Saturday at Clay Valey in Coeburn Virginia for the first ever race on dirt for the facility, we hope and would be honored to have the entire Blevins Motorsports nation to show up in full force and watch Brian sail off into the corner sideways digging for the win!
