The Cool Hound Racing team started in March 2012 with Tim Abelseth driving #66 Chevrolet Cavalier in the Rookie Pure 4 division. He scored 1 win and finished second in points that year. In 2013, Tim moved up to the Pure 4 division and Jon Pittman joined the team driving in the Rookie Pure 4 division. This year they both drove the #96 Honda Prelude. In 2014, Abelseth drove the #66 Honda Prelude, Pittman moved up to the Pure 4 division driving the #00 Honda Prelude, and Craig Phelps joined the Cool Hound Racing team driving the #00 in the Rookie Pure 4 division. In the 2014 season, the team captured 1 win in the Rookie Pure 4 division, 1 win in the Pure 4 division, and multiple top 5 finishes. In 2015, Abelseth continued driving the #66, Kevin Darnell joined the team to drive the #4 Honda Prelude in the Pure 4 division, Dwayne Banks also joined the team to drive the #4 in the Rookie Pure 4 division. During the 2015 season, the team scored 4 Pure 4 wins along with 4 Rookie 4 wins. Abelseth finished second in points in Pure 4 and Banks got the Rookie Pure 4 Kingsport track champion.
