July kept Cedar Point Pier busy, and August is already off to a great start! Smiling faces, impressive catches, and beautiful sunsets have filled the pier, and another Cedar Point Highlights post is already in the works. Cedar Point Pier is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and admission is free. Alabama residents can also fish from the pier without a fishing license. Cedar Point Pier will reopen to the public at noon on Thursday, July 23, 2026, following Tropical Storm Bertha.

Access to Cedar Point Pier is free, its regular hours are 24 hours a day/seven days a week, and no saltwater fishing license is required for Alabama residents.

Due to the effects of Tropical Storm Bertha, Cedar Point Pier is temporarily closed on Wednesday, July 22. It will be reopened when weather conditions improve. We'll update this post when Cedar Point Pier reopens. Stay safe and dry, everyone!

The fish are biting, and Cedar Point Pier is looking like the place to be this Independence Day weekend.

Local reports indicate flounder, white trout and other species are being caught consistently, making for promising fishing as the holiday weekend gets underway.

🚧 Construction begins this week on the new Cedar Point Boat Launch.

Cedar Point Pier remains open, but visitors must park in the pier parking lot at 18250 Dauphin Island Parkway and stay on the west side of Highway 193. There is no parking or public access on the east side, which will be an active construction site for about one year.

Please use extra caution while traveling along Highway 193 due to this project and ALDOT's nearby bridge work.

Despite a stretch of rainy days (and nights), May and June have delivered plenty of memorable moments at Cedar Point Pier. Whenever the skies cleared, the pier filled with people casting a line, enjoying the waterfront, and reeling in impressive catches.

Due to weather, all Mobile County Commission offices and parks will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Mobile County campgrounds will have some staffing and remain open for campers who are already on site. Parks staff will monitor water levels and alert any campers on site if circumstances change.

Mobile County parks will be open on the Juneteenth holiday.

All Mobile County Commission offices will return to normal operations after the Juneteenth holiday.

White trout are biting best right now, with local anglers reporting strong action after dark. Catfish and drum are also being caught, and calm water conditions continue to make for excellent fishing.

Cedar Point Pier is open 24/7, so there's plenty of time to get a line in the water.
