“YEDA means family to me. Being a part of YEDA has played a big role in my life. YEDA has given me many friendships that I am very thankful for and a whole team that supports and cares for me. In October of 2023, I lost my trainer, Jenna due to a horse accident. It was very hard to think about riding again without her. The Central Florida Equestrian Team became like instant family to me at the first show. YEDA is something I never want to lose. It brings everyone closer together.”

“I have been fortunate enough in life to have this exposure and experience with horses. Growing up, I didn’t have an opportunity to ever own horses or lease them, so I am extremely grateful that can ride through YEDA. I originally started western riding in 2020 through the UCF Equestrian Team, and once I graduated I was able to transition to riding with YEDA. I’ve had such an amazing time bettering my skills in horsemanship and learning to be a good, ethical rider. YEDA has given me, and many others, the opportunity to do this in a safe, fun environment, I am extremely happy with them!”

“As someone who grew up in the equine industry and showing jumpers, when I went to college I realized my life was about to change. With that change I decided to try Western instead of solely focusing on English. After joining the Western Equestrian Team at UCF, I learned about YEDA. Something about YEDA that I absolutely love is that they are a program with age ranges from 8 all the way to Alumni. What YEDA means to me is new chances. It is a welcoming place for all types of people in different parts of their lives. I firmly believe that YEDA helped me find joy in riding again, especially in a new discipline, and for that I’m very grateful.”

“Horses are so special to me as I have been around them my whole life. YEDA has given me the opportunity to work with some amazing horses and learn ways to better communicate with them. YEDA is special to me because they gave me the opportunity to compete in horse shows and I never did shows growing up. Thank you YEDA for all of these opportunities!”

“YEDA to me is very exciting because I get to ride new horses and have to figure them out fast. We have amazing trainers that help us prepare for all types of horses. Through YEDA I have made a lot of great friends. It is a lot of fun to travel to different places with our friends and coaches. This is my second year in YEDA and look forward to next season. “

☮️What YEDA means to me:
“During the YEDA competitions, my coaches and teammates tell me that I can do this, and for me, it lifts my spirits that they do this for me. My YEDA coaches are the best, and they both care about me, and I care about them too. My coaches’ names are Avery and Bailey. Whenever I’m on the horse, I want to be there all day long. Sometimes I think that it’s just me and the horse, being together and not separating, kind of like 2 friends wanting to keep playing until nighttime. The horses are kind and gentle, and easy to get moving and ride. Basically, what I am trying to say is that everyone and all the horses are the utmost best, just like a top shelf. This is what YEDA feels and means to me.”
