Stan celebrated his 71st birthday with me, of course, his sister Brenda & her & Stan's friend, Henry. We rode Amtrak up to Centralia, IL & ate a wonderful meal at the Centralia House - a beatifully restored old building right across from the train tracks.

These are our 2019 foals exercising in the round pen the end of March. The boys had been gelded so needed to be exercised for 6-7 days. I thought it was a good experience for Kayra, the filly too. Nealy is on the rail, Kayra in the middle & Evan on the inside.

We take all the foals on walks around the farm including our agility area - over poles, logs, tarp, teeter toter, through noodles & a curtain & eventually on our front deck. They have their feet trimmed at around 3 months then every 2 months, so know about picking up their feet. They have been tied for short periods, can back & move their front end & back end over when asked.

Bessias Bells, my foundation Morgan mare (the bay) is going blind. We have had her to the University of IL vet school 4 times since Jan 2019 for aggressive treatment. She is totally blind in her right eye & has limited site in her left. The ophthalmologist said she has moon blindness - a slow insidious type that will lead to total blindness.
The first time I tried to put her in the dry lot pasture with a pregnant mare she panicked - ran through many fences & injured herself at the neighbors on a stack of scrap metal. It was at night. We searched for her with flashlights but never located her. The next morning she appeared at the barn with several injuries. Those healed quickly after treatment & barn rest for 3 weeks. I was very cautious about letting her out of the barn after that. I tried to put her with 2 pregnant in the dry lot (day time only), but as they became closer to their due date they started picking on her. This week I tried an old friend of hers from the herd - Kelso Haille Q. I put them together in the barn first over night. That worked out very well, so to the small pasture next to the dry-lotted mares they went. That was this past Saturday. So far, all is well. I will eventually turn them out 24/7 as soon as I feel Bells has adjusted to her new environment.
