Welcome to the Augustana College Competitive Equestrian Team Page! The Augustana Equestrian Team is made up of Augustana students who have an interest in horseback riding during their time in college. The team provides a competitive outlet for Augustana equestrians through weekly practices and IHSA competitions against other area schools. The team rides once a week at Three Owl Farm in Coal Valley

, Illinois. We travel as a team to different shows over the course of the school year and compete against other colleges in the area. The competitive team is open to all riders, beginners through advanced, who have an interest in competing. The team currently consists of riders who just ride flat, and riders who also jump. This is Mary!

Mary is a senior majoring in Biology on the pre-veterinary medicine track and showing as a limit rider. Her favorite Augustana school horse is Dante (pictured). Her favorite thing about him is how smooth and steady of a ride he is.

Her favorite thing about showing is having the opportunity to learn about great horsemanship and improve her skills with every ride. Her favorite moment from showing was riding draft horse BamBam this past fall.

We hope to see Mary around at the barn even after her graduation!

What better way to kick off spring show season than with some proper introductions?!

This is Brianna. She is a sophomore majoring in Biology and showing as a Pre-Novice rider. Her favorite Augustana school horse is Tux (pictured), and she loves him for his big personality!!

Her favorite part about showing is getting to ride various horses and really test her developing skills!

Come say hi this season!!

This post is a bit delayed but a couple weeks ago our team competed in the last show of the season, and we had a blast! Everyone had amazing rides to end the season!

We want to thank every team that has hosted this season and everyone that lent us horses to use at the shows as well! We have had such incredible shows this past season!

We want to say congratulations to our coach Julie Mann for winning the IHSA lifetime achievement award! This is definitely well earned with all of the time and effort Julie has put into IHSA and our equestrian team over the years. We cannot thank her enough for everything she has done and continues to do for our team and IHSA! Congratulations Julie, and thank you so much for everything!

Congratulations to Becky and Julie on receiving the IHSA Lifetime Achievement Award!

Their dedication, hard work and love for equestrian sports have left an indelible mark on the IHSA and the students it serves.
