Glenn Curtiss featured on the cover of Time Magazine in October 1924!

Glenn Curtiss will always remain one of the true pioneers of aviation. He systematically earned himself the titles of "Father of American Aviation and the "Father of Naval Aviation." It must be remembered that Curtiss was actually the first to manufacture and sell airplanes in the U.S.

Politicians ignore the highly technical needs of the airport and focus on other departments which attract more community interest, such as schools, roads, and parks. This degrades and undermines the ability of the airport to make significant contributions back to their community.

The Splash In was cancelled this year in part because of the exceptionally low water level of Clear Lake.

The photo below show a pier at Lakeport at dawn this morning. Lake levels are lower than they have been in some time.

Holding the event in the Spring would make higher water levels at Clear Lake more likely.

Well, it took the printer much longer than usual to get this one to the post office - paper shortages, they say - but it should be in the hands of the USPS by this afternoon!
